Well, 1 year and 7 days old anyway. Never seem to get to this photo on the actual day anymore. For prior comparison photos, see here.
At one year old, Andrew is not quite walking, but he can stand unassisted for about 10 seconds. And he can walk around pushing a rolling toy, so I'm sure the real walking is pretty close. He has upgraded his dancing to include moving his feet a little bit (perhaps more advanced than his dad in that respect) while clutching the edge of the coffee table. He is making great progress with his sippy cup--now he knows how to tilt his head back quite far to consistently get liquid out of there. Although he can't always swallow the whole sip and some of it dribbles down his chin and soaks his shirt from time to time. Up next we're going to try phasing out the bottle in favor of the cup. I'm sure he'll love it!
He prefers solid food these days, and is a big fan of little humus on pita sandwiches, broccoli 'trees', and of course birthday cake.
He is unfortunately getting resistant to taking naps. He went a couple days this week with NO nap, and was a basket case by the end of the day. He's done a little better over the past few days, so we're keeping our fingers crossed this is just a phase....
He loves his new firetruck ride-on toy, and I'm considering putting the catchy theme song as a background to this web-site so that all of you can have it stuck in your head incessantly just like Carrie and I do!
He's also becoming quite a little rascal: he loves shaking all our floor lamps, invading the bathroom (recently had to have the apartment maintenance guy fix the door latch to prevent THAT one), and tries his darndest to defy all our child proofing attempts by pulling at cords and pushing stereo buttons. He's tall enough to have started grabbing at door handles too, although hasn't quite figured that one out yet.
He's quite a cute little handful!
