Spring Break!!!

We just returned from a week with my parents and Neil in Florida. It was Andrew's second visit to Florida and he was pleased to return to the Sunshine state.


He became a regular at the local Tiki bar.


He was well behaved for Grandma and Grandpa while his parents and uncle enjoyed watching a stunning Red Sox loss to the Cardinals. (Not often you see a 9-run 1/3 of an inning!)


Andrew enjoyed a trip to the zoo - including a boat tour of Monkey Island


Spent some time poolside with Daddy


And enjoyed local cuisine like this lime/chocolate ice cream cone

Saturday: Chore Time, then Fun Time

First, Andrew assisted us with a little spring cleaning around the house. He was a tremendous help. Floor has never been cleaner.



He was rewarded with a trip to the park.



Sorry our blog has become a continuous stream of pictures of the park lately. We're just so happy to be able to go outside.

3 minutes in the life...

...of a newly-walking 14 month old with a short attention span. Lately Andrew's favorite activity is darting around the apartment, bringing objects from one room to another, occasionally pausing to play with a toy or lie down and snuggle with something soft. Behold:



At 14 months, Andrew is doing well, though he is getting several molars in, which makes him fussier than usual. He is enrolled in a Saturday morning gym class that he loves -- especially hanging from bars (spotted, of course, for about 5 seconds at a time). Lately he is obsessed with phones - his toy cell phone, a small remote control for the air conditioner that he thinks is a phone, and a non-activated old iPhone. He holds them up to his ear and says "hi dada" or, alternatively, "uh?" In addition to "hi dada," his vocabulary includes wawa for waffle, mama, turtle, du for duck, bye bye, all done, and perhaps a few others. But his use of these words is definitely sporadic - I haven't heard bye bye in awhile, for example. Too busy exploring to concentrate fully on language, I guess!
