Sunshine

This week we had one day of sunshine and warmth and we took advantage.  As we sat on the deck blowing bubbles Andrew remarked, "It's a nice day in the country, Mommy."

Mid January we spent eight days in San Francisco and San Jose visiting friends and family whom we wish we saw more often.

Birthday Cake Part II

Had to record the race car cake for posterity.  We ate it at Andrew's third birthday party with friends and family which was held at an arts center for kids (hence the easels in the background).  I'd like to say a special thanks to the woman with the cake blog who creatively designed this cake for her son, and whose design I ripped of completely.  I did manage to write my own son's name on the "Happy Birthday" flag, though.

Also, I am super proud of the Elmo cupcake I whipped up when my original idea of a race car cake was met with, "Noooooo!  I want an Elmo cake!"  With my new-found confidence using tubes of grocery store frosting, Andrew will be getting that race car cake, like it or not, at his party this weekend.
