Sand box...sort of

This is Andrew playing in the sand at a local playground. Note that he
is not actually in the sandbox, but on the walkway just outside the
sandbox. I guess it was sandy enough for him.

And yes, this is the same playground as the post below. Different day. What can I say, this place has some truly appealing walkways.

You can take the toddler to the fancy new playground...

... but you can't convince him that playground is any more fun than the gravel walkway outside the park's utility shed.

Back at Children's Museum

This is the piano from the movie Big, which Andrew loves, despite the fact that he isn't heavy enough to make it play consistently.

Getting a big kick out of musical lily pads

Diligently hanging up his mittens like a good little kitten (he knows the nursery rhyme well and I suspect he wants pie).

Rollin' in his 5.0 with Cousin Jacob

With the rag top down so his hair can blow.

Oh yes, that was an Ice Ice Baby reference. I went there.

Pics from a Recent Family Get Together

Andrew had just knocked over this lawn chair. Clearly it brought him great joy.

Competing with his cousin for this superior lawn chair

I love this photo. Although you can't see his whole face, Neil is so psyched to accept whatever Andrew is doling out. Lately Andrew enjoys handing people nothing....or something very small that he has dropped or failed to actually pick up.

Talking Trash

During a recent freewheeling bath-prep session, Andrew climbed into the wastebasket. Luckily it was otherwise empty. He thought it was hilarious.

He is also well on his way to defeating that toilet lock.

Visiting the Arboretum on May Day

Andrew stopped to smell the lilacs today at a beautiful local arboretum.

Actually, he mostly poked at the lilacs. He also delighted in taking the little buttercup Greg handed him...

...and throwing it violently to the ground. This was repeated multiple times.

We also had a great time exploring several tree houses that were scattered around the property.

Lucky for Andrew, they featured many, many stairs -- lately he loves climbing them (upright, rather than crawling), though he requires plenty of assistance.

Happy Spring!!
