Andrew still loves jumping in his Jumperoo. He'll keep at it for most of an hour, and can't tell when he wants to stop. We figured he was done when he reached this point.

Oats. Delicious, delicious oats.

Over the past couple of weeks Andrew has not taken well to the world of rice and oat cereal. Or carrots. He watched in fascination, however, as I ate some Cheerios in front of him yesterday, and I was like, "Guess what. These are OATS, buddy." Oh well. We'll keep at it.

His latest trick is to greet every spoonful with the defense mechanism on display below:

Playing in the Exersaucer

My mom, who visited to watch Andrew for several days earlier this week, snapped this cute shot of Andrew and the singing iguana in his exersaucer. Andrew doesn't appear to be at all annoyed by the singing iguana.

Latest stats and milestones

Andrew went for his 4 month check-up late last week and we confirmed that he is becoming a bit more proportional in terms of height/weight and less like "a stalk" in the words of his pediatrician. I think she meant this in the kindest way possible. Andrew weighed in at 13 lbs, 10 oz (17th percentile) and 25.5 inches (62nd percentile).

We got the go ahead to try cereal, which we experimented with last night. Let's just say that Andrew was a lot happier eating that rattle.

Andrew giggles away as Greg tickles him, but he remains fixated on the flip video throughout. This child LOVES cameras and the iphone. Truly his father's son.

Tummy time vs. Air time

Andrew still is a bit of a wimp when it comes to tummy time--although he is getting better at it, he still starts whimpering and wailing after a few minutes of effort at lifting his head up to look at us and his toys. However, he has lately developed a love of flying. He must have pretty strong back muscles, because he stays stretched out fully and usually starts smiling and laughing when he gets hoisted over our heads.

4 months old!

Andrew is 4 months old today. He definitely looks bigger than last month, and sadly also a little balder. Although it seems that in the past week he has been developing a small amount of new hair growth--we'll see if it persists. At 4 months old, Andrew has just started to jump in his Jumperoo, and seems to love it. He is also quite a blabbermouth, and his talking has started getting louder and has a larger variety of sounds he can make. He can't quite roll over yet, but seems to be getting pretty close. Can't really sit up for more than a few seconds without keeling over, but I bet over the next month he'll accomplish this feat.

Given how much Andrew seems to enjoy kicking his little heart out, we've been waiting for the time when he's tall enough to use his Rainforest Jumperoo. Here you see him starting to get the hang of the jumping, even though his little feet just barely reach the ground.
