AC Season Already?

It was a nice sunny weekend here, but as the temp in our living room neared 80 we had to power up the AC. Andrew enjoyed it immensely!

Here's hoping we actually get a spring and the AC can be turned off soon.

Weekend Recap

It was a busy one! We went to the children's museum where Andrew played a concierto, captained a ship, and farmed some potatoes all within the span of an hour.


We went on a brief nature walk.


And of course, went to a park.

Andrew's First Artistic Expression

Andrew sat down with some paper and crayons today and got to work on his first masterpiece. I would estimate the 15 minutes we spent coloring were evenly divided between actual coloring, throwing the crayons on the floor, attempting to put the crayons back in the box, and playing with the roll of scotch tape that I had used to secure the paper to the table.

I have the drawing hanging on the bulletin board - no joke. Thus far I have recycled all the little craft projects that have come home from daycare because I am not convinced that Andrew contributed much to them at all. But this is 100% Andrew and his mother is proud.

Below is a little video I took during the creative session. We were also working on saying "hi" as you will see.

Can you take any more park pictures?

I know, I know. But this latest one might be the park to end all parks.

On Saturday, Andrew's Uncle Ricky and Aunt Kate accompanied us to a park that features six acres of colorful rubberized surface topped with all manner of playground equipment, including a special area for toddlers. Andrew had a great time.

There was also a 24,000 square foot playhouse for kids under 5, housed in a Victorian mansion. It kind of looks like what you'd expect if a 1897 mansion and a Toys R Us collided and were subsequently invaded by some energetic but not very tidy kids. But a ton of fun. Andrew cried when we pried the toy telephone (big surprise) from his hands and left.
