After a winter of being obsessed with card games, the nicer weather has redirected his attention to outdoor activities like shoveling dirt and flinging it around the yard; playing with squirt guns; climbing trees; kicking a soccer ball around; hitting a T-ball and dashing madly around the yard without regard to the bases; surreptitiously trying to play with the garden hose; and so on. We grew some sunflowers and beans this spring, which he was really into.
Andrew just finished his second year of preschool and will be returning for pre-K in the fall. Whenever we teach him something or tell him something new, he insists he already knows it and that he learned it at school.
He start drawing more identifiable objects this spring, like this Mother's Day card he made me. It features me and him playing with a ball.
He still loves most of the same toys and activities: cars/trucks/planes/trains, legos and other building sets, doing artwork, reading books, and watching as many videos as he can get away with. In fact, I think "seeing what he can get away with" is a pretty dominant theme with Andrew this year, but I guess that is about par for the course. He's a great little kid.
Lastly, he is just always cracking me up with little observations and comments he makes. Yesterday he was telling me about a bad dream he had and I said something about nightmares. He informed me that "nightmares" were fancy pajamas that people wore in France. He meant "nightgowns," but I have no idea where the France part came from.
