Easter

We colored Easter eggs last weekend.  All dyeing, painting, and sticker application was done exclusively by Andrew.

Next we went to an egg hunt yesterday at a nearby colonial farm.  We also learned about how 18th-century farm women were routinely scalded when cooking over fireplaces before the advent of iron cranes.  Happy Easter!

Andrew rejected 99% of the fruity-chewy candy found during this egg hunt, but was finally pleased by a Three Musketeers.

Our religious holiday was capped off by another egg hunt in our yard this morning.

Below is a little clip of Andrew hunting eggs.  He killed us with the line, "I can't resist [opening eggs]!  I'm just a little boy."

Fashion Footwear

Andrew started talking about light-up sneakers a couple of weeks ago when his BFF Barrett rolled into preschool sporting a pair.  Today I caved and bought him a pair of truly ugly Lightening McQueen (or as Andrew calls him, Lightnin the Queen) sneakers with red lights.

He has not stopped jumping, admiring them, and asking when he can go to school to show them to Barrett since we got home from the store.  He carefully placed them them next to his bed for his afternoon rest.  He colored a picture of them.  He took several photos of them with my phone (below).  As I read him a story this afternoon, he interjected "I wish my hands lit up" while staring wistfully at his hands.

His obsession with these god-awful shoes is so endearing I am finding them less and less ugly as the day goes on.

Fishing

Andrew spent about 20 minutes "fishing" in a little stream at a park this week.  He caught multiple fish and a dinosaur fish nugget.

Mini Golf

Andrew and I spent a couple days in Florida last week and I think the highlight of the trip was our round of mini golf.

Do we have a golf prodigy on our hands?

As it turns out, no.  Most of the holes went more like this:

He was just thrilled to be playing though.
