Walk this way

Gordon was stretching on the way back to the car from the playground this weekend, and Andrew started copying him as he waved his arms around.  He did a pretty faithful job copying Gordon's antics!

Doot doot!

Andrew found my mom's book reader, and thought it was hilarious to imitate the sound it made when you turn it off.  He was egged on by everyone in the room laughing when he did it of course...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Andrew, Carrie and I had a great time enjoying our two Thanksgivings again this year in Lancaster--both great.  Andrew got to ride in the cart with my dad (or Dampi, as Andrew has started calling him).
Later on he got to play outside several times thanks to the surprisingly nice weather over the long weekend.  He had fun playing in the leaves with my mom and Gordon.
Andrew was not too excited about his Thanksgiving meal options, and stuck with most of his old standby options for his meals.  Picky little boy doesn't know what he's missing.  Here's what happens when you get yogurt and then Cheerios all over your face.

Some Light Construction Work

A couple of exciting "truuuuuuucks!!!" were parked in the far corner of the grocery store parking lot this weekend, so we paid them a visit while out and about running errands.

Andrew calls front loader/backhoe trucks like the one above "fronts." He requested "I drive" but we were unwilling to open the door and let him.

We caved on this one, though.

The rusty water inside the backhoe was declared "yucky," as was the deteriorating foam seat of the forklift.  Andrew may need to become a little more resilient if he decides to go into construction.

Weekend Pictures

To mark the start of a chilly winter filled with trying to find ways to keep Andrew busy indoors, we went to the mall on Saturday.  And vowed not to do that again until after Christmas.

Andrew rode some kiddie rides and -- much like the little bear Corduroy in the story he has been reading a lot lately -- rode the escalators.  The funny thing is, like Corduroy, at the top of the mall escalators there were two furniture stores displaying their tables, couches, and mattresses.  "This must be a palace" we said.  (Brush up on your Corduroy if that reference doesn't ring a bell).

Sunday the weather was nicer, so we spent some time outdoors.  In the trees.

And when we gave up and turned on the TV on Sunday afternoon, we figured out why Andrew always carries his corn popper toy around horizontally.  It's his guitar.  His imitation of Jason Mraz performing in "The Best of Elmo 2" was very sweet and funny.
